Katie Campbell on Sea Stars and Science

For over a year, a deadly wasting disease killed off West Coast starfish by the millions. Further north, where waters are cooler, the starfish died at a slower rate. Scientists worked to determine whether the colder temperatures impacted the rate of die-off. Katie Campbell, EarthFix managing editor at Seattle's PBS affiliate KCTS 9, traveled to Alaska to document those scientists researching the largest documented marine disease.
