David Baron

David Baron is an author, journalist, and broadcaster who has spent most of his career in public radio. From 1987 to 2000, he worked as a science correspondent for NPR and Boston’s WBUR, producing news reports and serving as substitute host for the program “Science Friday.” From 2005 to 2014, he was science editor for PRI’s “The World.” Baron’s new book, American Eclipse (Liveright 2017), tells the story of a total solar eclipse that crossed the American frontier in 1878 and helped spur the nation’s rise as a global scientific power.
