Since their inception in 1945, the AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Awards have recognized professional journalists for distinguished reporting on the sciences, engineering, and mathematics. Starting this year, all award categories are open to journalists worldwide.
Journalists working for news outlets worldwide are eligible for awards in the following categories:
Large Newspaper • Small Newspaper • Magazine
Television • Radio • Online
Journalists working in any medium—broadcast, print or online—are eligible for awards in the Children's Science News category.
You may enter a single story, a thematic series, or a group of three unrelated stories. Click on "Submission Procedures" below for details.
Entries must have been originally published, broadcast or posted online within the contest year (1 July 2014 – 15 July 2015).
All entries must be submitted online by 11:59pm U.S. Pacific Time 1 August 2015. There is no entry fee.
